Just checking in to provide you with a short review of the new Apple iPad Tablet 64GB Wi-Fi 3G. Apple's new computer has faced a lot of scrutiny in recent months. This laptop tablet pc is a very good looking machine but would not probably be described as "exciting". This internet media tablet weighs in at 1.5 lbs. but it still easy to handle. This laptop tablet pc has a very sleek design but that sleek design can also mean that if you are trying to type while standing or with one hand it can be challenging at times. The ipad computer handles any opening of web pages and game graphics that you should need. The Apple ipad tablet has a 25 watt-hr battery that seems to hold up very well in testing. Colors on the ipad do not dissapoint as they seem to come to life on the screen in front of your eyes. The screen on the ipad is very responsive and could easily be called the best in class.
When using this computer tablet pc for reading we had no problems whatsoever despite what some people have said in comparing tablet pc's. The brightness can be adjusted as well to help with any issues regarding book reading.
The Apple ipad has speakers that seem to do a good job of providing clean, crisp sound but we know that there will only be a limited amount of total sound output that will be provided from a laptop tablet of this size.
There is not USB port or SD card reader on this ipad so they must be bought as an accessory. I would rather that these had been built into the laptop tablet pc. The ipad also does not contain a webcam which we would have liked to be ablet to have included and the headphone jack is located on top of the ipad instead of the side which is not very convenient.
The interface for the ipad is almost identical to the iphone or the ipod touch because it is built on the same operating system. There are some new elements that have been added to the Apple ipad such as: 1) split-screens, pop-overs, tool-bar drop downs, tap and hold, contextual menus, tabs, and virtual keyboards.
Apple's new internet media tablet is not like other computers and is so easy to use that almost anyone get quickly become familiar with it in a very short period of time. When comparing laptop tablet pc's you must also consider that the ipad is not made for multi-tasking even though this probably will not make a difference to most ipad users.
The last thing that I want to discuss is the Apple ipad applications that are included with the ipad. Some of the applications that are included are mobile safari, i-books, calendar/contacts, itunes, ibookstore, mail, video, youtube, ipod, iwork, and some third-party apps.
In summary, the ipad is going to be like no other computer you have ever used and there is a large demand in the market for the Apple tablet pc. The ipad will not be a replacement for your personal computer at home but if you spend most of your time browsing the internet or listening to music, etc. then you will love the Apple ipad.
